Cat lost on family camping trip found 1287km away from where he was ‘spooked’

A cat who ran away during a camping trip has been reunited with his family after travelling 1287km on his own.
Benny and Susanne Anguiano were camping at Yellowstone National Park in June when the unthinkable happened. Their cat, Rayne Beau, got spooked and ran into dense foliage. 
The couple, who live in California, tried to locate their beloved pet, who had camped with them beforem, but could not find him. They had no choice but to head home without him.

A Yellowstone employee had told the Anguianos that a dog was recently attacked by a coyote and that their cat didn’t have much hope. 
Susanne told NBC: “That was the hardest day because I felt like I was abandoning him.”

When Susanne saw a double rainbow in the sky as they were returning home, she had a feeling her beloved cat would be OK.That miracle would become apparent 60 days later when Rayne Beau was found.
The couple received a message from PetWatch – a pet microchip registry service – that informed them of their cat’s location and chip information. 
Rayne Beau was at a shelter in Roseville, California, more than 1287km away from where he went missing in Yellowstone.

The Anguianos have no idea how he managed to travel so far.
A woman discovered Rayne Beau all by himself in a street at the start of August, and when she realised he was a pet, she took him to the vet. 
“He was really depleted,” Susanne told NBC. “He probably didn’t have a lot of energy to even go further.”
Rayne Beau is now focusing on recovering, gaining weight, and playing with his sister.
